DNA sexing is available through feather testing, a safe and non-invasive method used to accurately determine a bird’s gender. Feathers are submitted to a certified laboratory for analysis, providing reliable results to help with pairing, breeding decisions, and long-term care planning.
Results are provided once laboratory confirmation is received.
May Take up to 3 weeks for results (typically received within 1 ½ weeks after sent out)
Wing clipping is an optional service offered upon request. This process limits flight ability to assist with safety, handling, and acclimation in new environments. Clipping is performed humanely and does not cause pain when done correctly. Feathers will regrow naturally during the bird’s next molt.
Nail trimming is an optional service offered upon request. Proper nail length helps prevent snagging, discomfort, and handling issues. Trimming is performed safely and humanely with care taken to avoid stress.
